PURPOSE:To obtain a servo signal which is written without requiring any synchronizing signal by positioning finely tracks adjoining to a track where the servo signal is written without using the servo signal. CONSTITUTION:A head moves from left to right and is positioned finely so that it comes to track centers 30, 34, and 38. Servo signals 31-37 are written in three blocks to head gap width without interfering with servo signals of adjacent tracks. When the head is positioned in the track center 30 finely, the servo signals 31 and 32 are used and the head is moved so that those servo signals become equal. Similarly, the servo signals 33 and 35 for the track center and the servo signals 36 and 37 are used for the track center 34. Consequently, overwriting is not necessary, so a clock signal for synchronizing is unneeded. |
