PURPOSE:To obtain an ion chromatographic packing material having excellent reproducibility and resistance to deterioration by substituting the ion exchange group on the inside of an ion exchange resin with the 3rd ionic material stronger than the ion to be measured. CONSTITUTION:The 3rd material such as inorg. ion exhibiting the stronger ionic property than the ion to be measured is added to the ion exchange regin and thereafter the ion exchange group on the inside of the ion exchange resin is substd. with the 3rd ionic material stronger than the ion to be measured by cleaning only the surface layer of the ion exchange resin. For example, a styrene/divinyl benzene copolymer is utilized for the particles to constitute the base material of the ion exchange resin. Benzoyl peroxide, etc. are used for a polymn. catalyst. The incorporation of the exchange group into the surface is substantially impossible when the quantity of the crosslinkable divinyl benzene decreases. On the other hand, the introduction of the ion exchange resin itself is difficult when the degree of crosslinking is too large. The surface concn. of the ion exchange group is thereupon increased and the weight of the divinyl benzene is made about >=20%, by which the ion chromatographic packing material is obtd. |
