PURPOSE:To obtain uniform image density by incorporating a specified compd. and one of a group of pigments. CONSTITUTION:The toner contains an electrostatic charge controller and one of pigments of structure represented by the formula shown on the right (at least one of X1-X8 is Cl, NH2, or NO2, and the rest of them are H, alkyl, or aryl), or compds. classified in C.I. Pigment Red 2 and C.I. Pigment Red 112. As a binder resin, polystyrene and a strene-acrylic acid copolymer, etc., are enumerated, and as a colorant, carbon black, a dye, a pigment, and their mixture are enumerated. Additives, such as various kinds of plasticizers, or resistance controller, may be added in order to control thermal, electric, and physical characteristics of the toner. The dye is added in an amt. of 1-20pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the binder resin, thus permitting the toner to obtain negative chargeability as strong as 7-50muC/g against a carrier, superior heat resistance and weather resistance, stable charge amt. against charge of humidity, and a copied image good in quality. |
