PURPOSE:To recover surely mixed metallic pieces by detecting the metallic pieces with a detecting means, and operating a timer means in synchronization with the movement of a conveying means to excite an electromagnet. CONSTITUTION:Mixed metals, etc., are detected by a metallic piece detector 6 on the basis of a pulse signal P generating in synchronization with the movement of a conveyor belt in an apparatus for removing metallic pieces, especially magnetic metallic pieces, mixed in a material under conveying. The detected signal Sd is sent to a control circuit 7, and a count starting signal Se is sent to a two-stage preset counter 8 as a timer means. An electromagnet 10 is excited for the requisite time in synchronization with the time required in the preset counter 8. Consequently, the electromagnet is excited in accordance with the time when a metallic piece under conveying arrives at the electromagnet, and the mixed metallic pieces are surely attracted and recovered. |
