PURPOSE:To discriminate accurately between the playback signal of a magnetic head and noise by constituting a magnetic recording and reproducing circuit which prevents a peak which is not an original peak from being detected owing to a saddle. CONSTITUTION:While a signal (d) obtained by removing unnecessary inversion due to the saddle is obtained from the output signal (c) of a comparator 5 by using a low-pass filter 6, a pulse signal (e) which contains unnecessary pulses generated owing to the unnecessary inversion due to the saddle, but maintains the inversion timing of the output signal (c) of the comparator 5 accurately is obtained from the output signal (c) of the comparator 5 to sample to signal (d) with the signal (f) generated by delaying the signal (e). Thus, the signal which has no unnecessary inversion due to the saddle and holds only the inversion by recording information is obtained from the output of the comparator 5, and this signal is converted into read pulses (h) to obtain correct read data pulses. Thus, there is no readout error occurring even in the presence of the saddle. |
