PURPOSE:To reduce an astigmatism and to decrease a returning light noise by forming a stripe groove of a depth reaching the first upper clad layer in a current limiting layer. CONSTITUTION:A stripe groove 30 is formed in the depth arriving at the first upper clad layer 22 and substantially in a raised shape on a current limiting layer 23. The narrow width portion 31 of the groove 30 is disposed at a Fabry- Perot reflecting surface 1a side, and a wide width portion 32 is disposed at a Fabry-Perot reflecting surface 1b side. The portion 31 side provides a refractive index guide wave, and the portion 32 side provides a gain guide wave.
