PURPOSE:To obtain bagged silage convenient for feeding of animal and for storage, by filling a silage raw material in a plastic bag, forming a ventilation hole with a plastic tube containing a metallic wire inserted therein, and fermenting the content. CONSTITUTION:A raw material for silage is filled in a heavy-gauge plastic bag, and a small plastic tube containing a metallic wire inserted therein is inserted in the bag in a manner that one end of the tube is in the bag and the other end is out of the bag. After sealing the bag, the wire is pulled out to form a ventilation hole, and the content of the bag is fermented. The heavy- gauge plastic bag is a commercially available heavy-gauge bag made of a plastic such as polyvinyl chloride resin and having a proper size, e.g. about 10-30kg content. Any raw material for silage can be used in the present process, however, chaff is especially preferable as the main raw material.
