PURPOSE:To provide a water-proofing sheet having high tear strength at low temperature and effective to prevent the leak of water from the bonded part, by using a styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene elastomer and a specific synthetic rubber as main components, and mixing asphalt and carbon black thereto. CONSTITUTION:100pts. of a styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene elastomer having high compatibility to asphalt is mixed with 30-90pts. of asphalt, 100pts. of a styrene-butadiene-styrene rubber, 20-100pts. of carbon black (as a rubber- reinforcing material) and 0.8-0.9pt. of an antioxidant for rubber, and the mixture is kneaded and formed to a sheet of 2mm thick with e.g. a calender roll. The sheet has excellent tear strength at low temperature and can be applied without heat-sealing, only by coating the joint part with an organic solvent such as toluene, thereby dissolving and activating the surface. Accordingly, complete water-proofing effect can be expected and the leak of water can be stopped. |
