PURPOSE:To avoid the cut-off of a power supply even in case a power supply switch is turned off during the transfer of data, by using a power supply self- holding means which self-supports a power supply circuit until the transfer of data is through or disabled. CONSTITUTION:When the transmission of data is started to a hard disk device 2 from an office computer 1, a detection circuit 26 for data processing start signal detects the start of said transmission of data. Then a power supply self- support signal is supplied to a power supply self-support control circuit 23 from a CPU21 of a power supply protecting device 11. Thus the power supply state of the computer 1 is self-supported. Then the power supply is continued to the computer 1 even though a power supply switch 6 of the computer 1 is turned off under such conditions. When the data processing job is through with the device 2, a data processing job end signal is supplied to the computer 1. This signal is detected by a data processing end detecting circuit 27. Then a release signal is supplied to the circuit 25 from the CPU21. In case the transmission of data is impossible in the middle of its course, the circuit 27 detects this and supplies a release signal. |
