PURPOSE:To generate strong swirl by forming a swirl forming passage communicating to the vicinity of one intake valve from an upper stream of an opening and closing valve of an engine in which two intake valves are provided on one cylinder to port from a bent unit linearly. CONSTITUTION:An opening and closing valve 14 is provided on a junction unit 4 on an upper stream of respective intake ports of an engine in which two intake valves 6, 6 are provided on one cylinder 1, and an opening 41a of the upper stream of the opening and closing valve 14 is communicated to a port 42 of one intake valve 6 on an auxiliary intake passage 41. The cross sectional shape of the passage 41 is flat S1 and the passage 41 is bent from a portion A of the opening 41a to the port 42 side, and is made linear from the bent portion to the outlet. On this linear portion, the cross sectional area of the passage 41 is made smaller gradually to reduce flowing resistance of intake air on the bent portion, and intake air flow velocity is raised surely as throttling is made on the linear portion, and strong swirl can be generated in a combustion chamber. |
