PURPOSE:To prevent an excessive control and hunting from taking place by controlling a device in such a manner that the suspension characteristic is changed, and simultaneously the stated value is also changed correspondingly when the amplitude of a ground clearance oscillation detected by a ground clearance detector, is found to exceed the stated value. CONSTITUTION:In a configuration where a suspension (c) is arranged between a body (a) and a wheel axle (d), and a suspension characteristic is made changeable by changing its spring constant, a damping force of its shock absorber, and ground clearance, a ground clearance detection means (d) is arranged to detect the space between a wheel (b) and the body (a) as the ground clearance. And it is decided whether or not the amplitude of the ground clearance oscillation exceeds the stated value. And if the amplitude is decided to be YES, a suspension characteristic change means (f) allows the suspension to change its suspension characteristic. In addition, a stated value change means (g) allows the stated value of a decision means (e) to be changed in accordance with the change of the suspension characteristic.
