PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having high thermal conductivity and superior corrosion resistance, by covering surface of Cu (alloy) stripe material with metal other than Cu, than applying heating treatment and rolling to the stripe material. CONSTITUTION:Surface of Cu (alloy) stripe material is covered with metal such as Al for improving corrosion resistance by electrolytic or electroless plating, or vapor depositing, sputtering, etc. Next, heating treatment for forming diffused layer of said metal on surface of the stripe at temp. of >=about 500 deg.C - less by about 50 deg.C than Cu (alloy) m.p. is applied, successively rolling is performed to improve evenness of surface. In this case effectiveness is the same whichever is preceded, heating treatment or rolling. Heating treatment carried out in inert or reducing atmosphere is desirable. Further, covering metal of >=one kind among Ni, Sn, Zn, Pb, Si, Mn, Ti, Zr, Cr, Ag in addition to Al, are favorable.
