摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent a rear wheel shock from taking place when a car passes over an extremely rough road by controlling a device in such a manner that a rear wheel suspension characteristic is changed when a ground clearance data obtained from the detected ground clearance value, are found to be out of the stated range, and simultaneously the above stated range is changed so as to meet the car speed. CONSTITUTION:In a configuration where a suspension (c) is arranged between a body (a) and a rear wheel (b), the suspension characteristic of which can be changed by changing its spring constant, its damping force, the characteristic of its bushes, and the characteristic of its stabilizer, a front wheel ground clearance detecting means (e) is arranged to detect the space between a front wheel (d) and the body (a) as the ground clearance. Then, the ground clearance data obtained from the detected value are decided whether or not out of the specified range, a rear wheel suspension characteristic change means (h) allow the characteristic of a rear wheel suspension to be changed. And the above specified range is allowed to be changed by a change means (i) based on the output of a car speed detecting means (f).
