PURPOSE:To improve ignition performance by opening the injection holes having the larger and smaller diameters at the top edge part of a fuel injection nozzle and installing an injection-hole control means for jetting-out fuel only from the injection hole having the small diameter at low temperature, thus accelerating the atomization of jetted-out fuel. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection nozzle 5 is arranged in eccentricity with respect to the center of a combustion chamber 4 formed in concave form at the top part of a piston 3. An injection hole 7 having a large diameter and an injection hole 8 having a small diameter are opened at the top edge part of the fuel injection nozzle 5. An injection-hole control means 18 allows the fuel injection only from the injection hole 8 having a small diameter at low temperature. The output information of a water temperature sensor 23 for the engine cooling water is input into a control unit 24, and a switch 22 is controlled by the output. Thus, the atomization of the fuel jetted-out at low temperature is accelerated, and ignition performance can be improved.
