PURPOSE:To obtain a microfilm reader which has both the focusing function and the rotation adjusting function of a proheated image and is easy to be produced and has a lens to be replaced quickly, by providing a lens unit consisting of a focusing member which varies the distance between the lens supported on a casing and a microfilm setting part. CONSTITUTION:When a blade 27A is rotated, a focusing member 27 is rotated in the position where it is brought into contact with a film retaining plate 3 as it is. A casing 24 engaged with the focusing member 27 is moved vertically in a holder 23. Then, the distance between a lens 26 fixed to the casing 24 and the film retaining plate 3 is varied to perform focusing.
