PURPOSE:To reduce vibration and noise by increasing the rigidity of a cam bracket by connecting the cam bracket of an OHC-type engine to the side wall of a cylinder head by means of ribs. CONSTITUTION:Onto the upper deck 2 of the cylinder head 1 of an OHC-type engine, a cam bracket 3 for rotatably supporting a cam shaft is installed between head bolt holes 5. The cam bracket 3 and the side wall 4 of the cylinder head are connected by the ribs 9a and 9b. Therefore, the cam bracket 3 is supported by three sides of the bottom surface and the both side surfaces, so that the rigidity against the turning-down is improved, and the vibration generated during valve lift is suppressed, and also noise can be reduced. |
