MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To attain a natural reproduction state as well as the simultaneous reproduction in a recording mode by providing two pairs of magnetic heads to a rotary drum in a fixed state and therefore eliminating the time difference between the video and audio signals in a reproduction mode. CONSTITUTION:A rotary drum 8 is provided with a pair of a 1st magnetic heads 9A and 9B having azimuth angles adverse to each other and another pair of a 2nd magnetic heads 10A and 10B which can record signals at the position advanced by 2.5 fields from the 1st heads. A 180 deg. space is secured between these two pairs of heads, and the height difference H is secured be tween both pairs of heads so that the heads 9A and 9B can scan accurately the recording tracks of the heads 10A and 10B with a time difference equal to 2.5 fields. Thus it is possible to perform the simultaneous reproduction in a recording mode and an advance reproduction of audio signals for time base matching between the video and audio reproduction signals by means of a small number of heads set to the drum 8 in a fixed state.
