发明名称 HIGH PRESSURE DISCHARGE LAMP
摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent any instable arc from developing in the luminous tube of a high pressure discharge lamp due to acoustic resonance by installing means for rectifying the convection of the charged matter in the luminous tube and subjecting the lamp to high frequency ignition by a frequency modulation system. CONSTITUTION:A high pressure discharge lamp lamp is produced by installing a luminous tube where electrodes 2a and 2b, a rare gas and a luminous substance are charged in an outer tube 8 coated with a phosphor 9. The luminous tube 1 has four rectangular partition plates 10 located on the inner surface at almost equal intervals. It is subjected to high frequency ignition by a frequency modulation system. During ignition, an upward air stream is produced due to high temperature resulting from the presence of an arc in the central area of the luminous tube 1 while a downward stream is produced due to low temperature near the tube wall and the convection of these air stream is compulsorily rectified by the partition plates 10 thereby generating force to stabilize the arc. Accordingly, it is possible to secure stabilized ignition of the lamp by avoiding acoustic resonance.
