PURPOSE:To decrease the cutting chips of a case produced by the sliding action of a shutter by providing a projection part at the rubbing area betwen a car tridge case and the shutter and reducing the contact area between the shutter and the case. CONSTITUTION:When a disk cartridge is loaded to a recording and reproducing device, a shutter 12 slides toward an arrow head 15, for example, over the projected parts 10i and 10j of the flat parts 10g and 10h and the guide parts 14a and 14b. Thena spindle hole 10c and a head inserting hole 10d are opened and therefore a spindle can be put into the hole 10c and a recording and reproduction head can be put into the hole 10d respectively. Then the information can be recorded to and read out of a loaded optical disk 11. While the shutter 12 moves toward an arrow 16 when the cartridge is unloaded from the recording and reproducing device. Thus both holes 10c and 10c are closed. This the mixture of dust into a case through those holes, i.e., the attachment of dust, etc. to the disk 11 can be prevented.
