NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 is C4-10 straight-chain alkyl; R2 is 1-10C straight chain alkyl). EXAMPLE:2-Butyl-5-(4-butylphenyl)pyridine. USE:A liquid crystal compound. PREPARATION:The objective compound can be prepared by (1) reducing 4- alkylphenylcarboxylic acid chloride of formula II, (2) subjecting the reduction product successively to chlorine-substitution, cyanation, hydrolysis and chlorina tion to obtain the compound of formula III, (3) formylating the compound with a mixture of DMF and POCl3, (4) reacting the obtained compound of formula IV with the compound of formula V to obtain the compound of formula VI, (5) reacting with hydrochloric acid and perchloric acid, and (6) subjecting the reaction product to nitrogen atom substitution and then reduction. |
