PURPOSE:A depilatory agent that contains homocysteine or its ester as a major agent, thus showing high depilatory effect with weak skin irritation, no pain on application and easiness to be used. CONSTITUTION:Homocysteine or its ester is used as a major agent, by 1-20wt%, preferably 2-10wt%. It has higher depilatory effect than conventional depilatory agents with reduced skin irritation and reduced bad odor. The objective depilatory agent may contain, in addition to these compound, cysteine or thioglycolate salt for stability and usability, when needed, further fat and oil, a surfactant and a pH adjuster may be added.
