The shelf support is appropriate for book-cases or similar furniture comprising at least two vertical base panels, which are placed side by side and are not joined. It consists of three keying (wedging) bars 1, 2, 3, parallel to each other and linked in pairs by a brace 4, 5, the first and the second keying (wedging) bars 1, 2 being suitable for placing on either side of the assembly of the two panels 6a and 6b with the brace 4 linking them passing between the said panels, while the third and second keying (wedging) bars 3, 2 are suitable respectively for supporting and locking a shelf 7. <IMAGE>
