Tool changer assembly 1 and tools 3 for a machine with automatic tool change, especially for a robot. According to the invention, the said assembly is noteworthy in that the said tool changer and each of the said tools comprise interacting plane faces 6, 7, arranged such that when a tool is mounted in the said changer, its plane face is applied against the plane face of the said tool changer and in that, between the said plane faces of the tool changer and of a tool there are provided, so as to fix the position of the said tool relative to the said changer, on the one hand, centring means comprising a cylindrical dog point 8 of large diameter relative to its length interacting with a recess 9 of corresponding shape and, on the other, a dog point 10 of small diameter relative to the said centring dog point and interacting with an oblong recess 11 whose length is directly diametrically relative to the said centring dog point 8 and whose width is such that the said dog point 10 of small diameter may penetrate therein with slight friction. <IMAGE>
