PURPOSE:To make possible the spot welding of steel plates coated with a primary rust preventive paint with respect to the constitution of electrodes for spot welding by providing heating mechanism to heat locally the parts for welding which are held in place between a pair of pressurizing and current conducting electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Heaters 5, 6 are respectively provided into the pressurizing and current conducting electrodes 1, 2 of a hollow cylindrical shape. The primary rust preventive paint of the steel plates 3, 4 is burned by the heaters 5, 6 while the intended welding point of said steel plates is held under the pressure by the electrodes 1, 2. Electricity is then conducted to the electrodes 1, 2 to spot-weld the steel plates 3, 4. The electrode for spot welding having the capability of the spot welding of the painted steel plates is thus obtd. |
