PURPOSE:To make thicker a heat-fusible correction ink layer, thereby enhance a hiding property and to prevent printing quality from being lowered, by providing a means for counting the number of times of correction of a character to be corrected, a means for storing position information, and a controlling means for successively repeating a covering-up operation plural times. CONSTITUTION:An input/output port 8 is controlled by a micro-processor 17 so that an operation of covering up with a heat-fusible correction ink by a thermal head 14 is conducted one time in the same shape as that of a character, symbol or the like to be corrected stored in a ROM15 or over the area covering at least the maximum character width and the maximum character height of the character or the like to the corrected. Thereafter, 1 is subtracted from the number of times of correction (n) stored in a RAM16 by the microprocessor 17, and the number thus obtained is reset into the RAM16. Next, when it is discriminated by the microprocessor 17 that the number of times of correction is not 0, the covering-up operation using the correction ink is again conducted, thereby increasing the thickness of the heat-fusible correction ink layer. |
