PURPOSE:To have uniform plating at both sides of a work, when a plate-shaped work is mounted on a rack for surface treatment in the processes for plating, by allowing a holder to hold each work placed on one side of a rack in such a way that it intersects the reference surface of the rack. CONSTITUTION:This loading device for plate-shaped works is equipped with a work parallel-placing mechanism, a work receiving and standing mechanism 18, and a work mounting mechanism 12, the last of them bearing commision to mount the work W standed by the second named mechanism 18 on a jig J. The work receiving and standing mechanism 18 is furnished with a stationary base and a movable base stretching in the direction of works being placed parallelly, and the two bases are provided with a number of work supporting projections and work fitting grooves located alternately in the direction of the work being placed parallelly. The movable base is coupled with a movable base moving mechanism 28, and in the work receipt position, said projections on the two bases are dislocated in the direction of the works being placed parallelly so as to allow the projection oversurfaces to receive a number of works from the work parallel-placing mechanism, and in the work dropping position, the projections of the two bases drop the works into said grooves, whereafter the works are standed in the work standing position.
