In insertion tube for new strands into the tubular store cable twisting machine is between the stand pipe and the store tube, running axially parallel to the store tube as far as the distribution disc. Opened slits in the guide grooves, axially parallel to and facing the store tube, have larger dimensions than the cable being twisted, which match the number of guide holes in the disc and are aligned to match their orientation. The insertion tube rotates with the distribution disc and the store tube. Pref. insertion tube rotates with the disc and the disc is driven from the drive to the insertion tube or it has its own drive tube between the stand pipe and insertion tube where there is an open zone with a circular cross section. the insertion tube is formed by two half-shells, which are only inserted between the drive tube and the store tube when fresh strands are being inserted.
