PURPOSE:To ensure a high sensitivity and prevent decoloration from occurring due to a plasticizer, an oil or the like, by using a 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene compound as a main component of a color developer and incorporating a metallic compound in a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene compound is used as a color developer, and a metallic compound is incorporated in a thermal color forming layer, in a thermal recording material in which a thermal color forming layer comprising a leuco dye and a color developer as main constitutes is provided on a base. The naphthalene compound is a compound having hydroxyl groups at 2-position and 3-position of a naphthalene ring, and may comprises a substituent group other than hydroxyl on the naphthalene ring. The metallic compound may be, for example, an oxide or hydroxide of iron, copper, zinc or the like or a salt of such a metal with an organic acid such as benzoic acid. |
