PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time and to decrease the mental burden of an operator by providing a coin counting button and operating a coin counting part only when it is necessary to count a coin. CONSTITUTION:When a counting start button 31 is pushed down, an operation control part 30 informs a paper money control part 30 and a coin control part 25 of the counting start command. The operation control part 30 usually sends a prohibiting signal to gates 26 and 27, opens the gate when a coin counting button 32 is on, and a coin counting lamp 33 is made to light up. The paper money control part 22 drives a paper money mechanical driving part 23, and clears up the contents of a paper money distinguishing counting part 24. When the paper money is inputted, the paper money is accommodated after it is distinguished and counted. The paper money control part 22 reads the counting result, and informs an interface control part 21 of it. When a coin counting button 32 is on, the coin control part 25 drives a coin mechanical driving part 28, sets a coin distinguishing counting part 29 to a counting waiting state, the coin is distinguished and counted, and thereafter, the counting result is informed and accommodated to the control part 21.
