PURPOSE:To reduce shocks upon braking, by disposing a high speed rotating member in an axially split rotary ring so tat the rotary ring may be made in contact with and separated from the high speed rotating body by means of fluid disposed between a casing and the rotary ring. CONSTITUTION:A rotary ring 3 rotatably disposed in a casing 2 is composed of vertically split ring halves 3a, 3b, and has therein an air chamber 11 incorporating a high speed rotating member 4. Further, oil is stored in a fluide chamber 10 defined between the rotary ring 3 and the casing 2. In order to brake the high speed rotary member 4, a solenoid selector valve 16 is changed over into its communicating position in accordance with a signal from a control device 24, and oil in an actuator 15 is led to the fluid chamber 10 to contract the rotary ring 3 overcoming the force of a spring 22 so that the ring 3 is made into contact with the high speed rotating body 4. As a result, the rotating member 4 is braked due to the viscosity of oil in the fluid chamber 10. |
