PURPOSE:To enable polishing uniformly by providing a polishing brush retractably in the centrifugal direction of a rotary drum while swingably in the peripheral and axial directions within a limited scope, and closely attaching said polishing brush on the surface of a workpiece. CONSTITUTION:A polishing brush 8 is removably installed between supporting rods 5, 5' which are removably provided laterally on the supporting frame 3 of a polishing roll. When this polishing brush 8 is partially damaged, the polishing brush 8 is removed form the supporting rods 5, 5', and replaced by a new one. This polishing brush 8 is installed retractably in the radial direction of the rotary drum 1 and swingably in the peripheral direction and axial direction within a limited scope. Accordingly, when the whole polishing rolls are rotated while the polishing member 7 of the polishing brush 8 is being slidably in contact with the workpiece, on the workpiece, the polishing member 7 hits, slidingly comes in contact with, or is retracted in the direction of a rotary axis 2, to grind off scale on the workpiece 9 favorably.
