PURPOSE:To improve processing accuracy by using the oxygen and compressed air regulated by a regulator as a processing gas. CONSTITUTION:The pure gaseous oxygen supplied from a gaseous oxygen cylinder 9 via the regulator 10A and the air of the prescribed pressure supplied from a compressor 12 via the regulator 10B are stored in a mixing tank 17. The mixing ratio of the gaseous mixture in the tank 17, i.e., the concn. of the pure gaseous oxygen is regulated by the regulator 10A on the cylinder 9 side. The processing is made possible by increasing the oxygen concn. when the laser beam processing speed is high and by decreasing the oxygen concn. when the processing beam is low. The fine processing to high accuracy at a low speed and the cutting at a high speed are thus made possible selectably by the above-mentioned method. The range for processing conditions is widened by suppressing self-burning and the accuracy of processing is improved. |
