The invention relates to a shoe comprising a vamp 1 with no toe and heel and a pair of preformed shell elements, for the toe 2 and for the heel 3, respectively, to which the said vamp is joined. Manufacture of the said shoe comprises the stages of placing the toe 2 and heel 3 shell elements on the vamp 1, applying the insole 4 to the last, applying adhesive mastic to the insole, at the folded-over edges of the shell elements and at the edges of the sides of the vamp, slipping the last with the insole into the vamp and the shell elements, with subsequent closure of the sides of the vamp, and applying the sole after roughing up only the sides of the vamp and applying mastic.
