PURPOSE:To make possible a high density recording to be carried out and manufacturing cost of a line type thermal head to be reduced without highly densifying a heat generation element of the line type thermal and a driving IC, by carrying out a plural number of times of the recording operation in the different positions with the line type thermal head displaced in a beam direction. CONSTITUTION:A slit 5a is provided by a base of a thermal head 4, and an electric cam 7 connected to a motor 6 directly is fitted thereto, and the displacements of the thermal head in a beam direction are repeated by the rotations of the motor in a direction of an arrow A. A recording information is transmitted to the thermal head 4 after a driving pulse is given, and a record ing operation is carried out at the first recording position by a heat generation body driving pulse. Then, a new recording information is transmitted after the thermal head is displaced from the first recording position a-L to a second recording position a-L in the beam direction, and the recording medium is sent in a line direction after the recording operation of a part of one line is complet ed. |
