The present invention relates to a method for coating an elongate sensor fitted at one end, called the detection end, with a sensitive member. The method consists in disposing the body of a sensor in a mould cavity 104 which is complementary to the desired coating, in moving the centreing means 130 into engagement with the detection end of the sensor body and in injecting a thermoplastic coating material into the cavity of the mould, withdrawing the centreing means after starting the injection, so that the material completely coats the first end of the sensor body fitted with the sensitive member. The present invention also relates to a moulding device for the implementation of the method, a sensor and an armature (reinforcement) for producing the sensor. <IMAGE>
