PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording paper excellent in moisture resistance, heat resistance and oil resistance of both recorded images and blank parts, by a method wherein zinc halo-substituted benzoate of formula (I) is used as a color developer, and a naphthyl ether derivative of formula (II) or (III) is incorporated as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION:Zinc halo-subst. benzoate is a compound having a peculiar molecular structure selected from a large number of metallic salts of carboxylic acids, is a colorless high melting point substance, and can be obtained by a reaction of sodium halo-subst. benzoate and zinc sulfate. The sensitizer is 1,4- dimethoxynaphthalene, 1,4-diethoxynaphthalene, 2,7-dibenzyloxynaphthalene, 2,7-diisoamyloxynaphthalene or the like. The color developer, a basic colorless dye and the sensitizer are pulverized to a particle diameter of not larger than several microns by an emulsifier, to which various additives are added as desired to obtain a coating liquid. |
