PURPOSE:To enable detection of a non-moving condition such as a ribbon overload condition due to jamming and a ribbon end condition, by a construction wherein a film ribbon having a silver tape at a winding-starting part is wound around a payout reel, and a reflection-type photosensor is provided in the payout reel. CONSTITUTION:The film ribbon 3 having the silver tape 2 at the winding- starting part is wound around the payout reel 1. A reel guide shaft 7 is hollow, and the reflection-type photosensor 9 is disposed in the interior of the shaft 7. When light 9c from a light-emitting diode 9a is reflected by the silver tape 2 during rotation of the reel 1, the light 9c makes a photo-transistor 9b conductive, whereby an H signal is outputted to an output terminal, and when the light 9c is interrupted by the payout reel 1, and L signal is outputted, resulting in that a wave signal is obtained. When the rotation of the reel 1 is stopped due to jamming of the ribbon 3 or the like or when a ribbon end condition occurs, an H signal or an L signal is continuously outputted through an output terminal of the sensor 9. Such a signal is processed by a microprocessor, whereby the non-moving condition of the ribbon 3 can be detected. |
