The subject of the present invention is a frequency/frequency converter comprising, in cascade, a frequency multiplier 2 by an integer M, and a frequency divider 4 by an integer N, in which the division ratio N can be controlled by a control circuit 3 connected to the output of the multiplier 2, in order to obtain a conversion ratio of the frequency/frequency converter according to the invention which can vary over time. Such a converter can be used to synthesise vocal frequencies for example. <IMAGE>
