The invention relates to a weighing area 1 made of reinforced concrete intended to receive the mechanism making it possible to check the axle weight of transport vehicles. This weighing area 1 is noteworthy in that it consists of an assembly of precast reinforced-concrete elements, 1', 1'', 2', 2'', 3', 3'', 4', 4'', 5', 5'', 8 and connected together in situ by means of a dismantleable assembly by tenon a and mortise 6, in order to form, on the one hand, a rectangular central platform 1 preformed to create recesses 6 intended to receive the weighing mechanism and, on the other hand, four strips 2, 3, 4 and 5 which are installed in pairs, are parallel and are spaced apart by means of spacers 8, on either side of the platform 1, so as to define two tracks for guiding the transport vehicle above the mechanism for weighing the latter. The invention also relates to a method for constructing the weighing area 1 using these precast reinforced-concrete elements 1', 1'', 2', 2'', 3', 3'', 4', 4'', 5', 5'', 8.
