The stator of the brushless DC motor consists of at least two flat, circular stator parts which are arranged offset with respect to one another by half a pole pitch in the circumferential direction. Each stator part consists of a stator laminate whose laminate blank has symmetrically arranged segments. The segments are located in two planes which are offset axially with respect to one another and between which a flat circular coil is arranged. <IMAGE>
