The invention describes a hand-propelled transport cart (1) which has a pivotable stop (15) on the front end (6) of its loading surface (5). A substantial part of the stop (15) can be inserted, in the position of rest of the stop (15), in openings (22) arranged on the loading surface (5), with the result that in this position of the stop (15) nevertheless an essentially flat loading surface (5) is formed, on which even bulky goods which project over the front end (6) can be loaded. On the other hand, the stop (15) located in the upright position, that is in the position of use, prevents the goods from slipping forwards when slopes have to be negotiated with the transport cart (1). <IMAGE>
