PURPOSE:The titled composition excellent in heat resistance, water resistance and elongation at break, obtained from an epoxidized acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer rubber prepolymer, an aromatic glycidylamine and an aromatic diamine. CONSTITUTION:An epoxidized NBR prepolymer (A) having a nitrile content of 15-25%, at least one COOH group per MW of 1,000-2,000 and a MW of 4,000-5,000 is obtained by reacting acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer rubber (NBR) with an epoxy resin at a weight ratio of 1:4-1. 10-40pts.wt. component A is mixed with 90-50pts.wt. aromatic glycidylamine (B), e.g., tetra- glycidyldiaminodiphenylmethane, and 0.5-1.0 equivalent, per equivalent of said epoxy resin, of an aromatic diamine (C) of the formula [wherein R1 is CH2, C(CH3)2 or SO2 and R2 is H, Cl or C2H5], e.g., diaminodiphenyl sulfone, and, optionally, 10wt% or below, epoxy resin other than the above, a cure accelera tor, etc.
