PURPOSE:The titled composition excellent in flame retardancy, heat resistance, adhesion and moldability, consisting essentially of a brominated epoxy resin having a bisphenol F structure in the skeleton. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy resin based on tetrabromobisphenol A diglycidyl ether is addition-polymerized with tetrabromobisphenol F and/or bisphenol F to obtain a brominated epoxy resin (A) having a bisphenol F structure of the formula in the skeleton and having a number-average MW of 800-2,500, and a bromine content of 30-60wt%. 100pts.wt. mixture (of a bromine content of 15-30wt%) obtained by mixing 7-70wt% component A with, optionally, an epoxy resin mixture comprising other brominated epoxy resins and unbrominated epoxy resins with a curing agent (B) (e.g., phenolic novolak resin), is mixed with, optionally, a solvent, a cure accelerator, a filler, a mold release, a flame retardant, etc.
