The housing (1) possesses a skeleton which consists of vertical supports (20, 21) and horizontal crossmembers (22 to 29) and which carries wall elements (32 to 37) and, if appropriate, also apparatus elements. The skeleton is, by means of screw connections, composed of polygonal tubes cut to size in batches, each of uniform length. The wall elements (32 to 37) consist of panels, the edges of which are bevelled at below 45 degrees. The supports (20, 21) and crossmembers (22 to 29) possess bearing surfaces, inclined at below 45 degrees, for the edges of the wall elements (32 to 37). The supports and crossmembers preferably consist of octagonal tubes. A high stability is obtained, along with a low weight of the housing. Subsequent changes in the housing dimensions are possible without difficulty. <IMAGE>
