A three-dimensional measuring and/or marking device is proposed, in which a displacement measuring device having a longitudinally placed material measure and a measuring head for all three displacement directions. The material measure consists of a metallic strip which is arranged in a longitudinal holder and is firmly mounted thereon with one end and can be clamped with the other end by means of a clamping head for adjusting purposes. The longitudinal holder has individual clamping elements which are arranged at spacings from one another and by means of which the strip can be clamped on individual longitudinal sections in a stepped fashion after adjustment on the longitudinal holder. As a result, successive individual longitudinal sections of the strip can be sequentially adjusted, any errors residing in the preceding longitudinal section not being taken over again during adjustment of a longitudinal section. The material measure can thus be adjusted precisely in a high quality fashion even in the case of very large lengths.
