PURPOSE:To attain a high speed variable power processing while original picture data is preserved by adding magnification data to the original picture data and variable-power-processing the original picture data based on the magnification data. CONSTITUTION:When a variable power indication is obtained, the CPU11 of a control part 10 adds the specified magnification data to the original picture data which is stored in the picture data storage area of a main memory 12 and has the variable power specification. Since in this case the original picture data is not modified, it is preserved as it is. In case of the output of the original picture data added by the magnification data, only data in an output (sampling) line is transmitted to a picture variable power processor F from a memory E, and transmitted to an output device H through a buffer G as it is. Thus the original picture data can be preserved as it is, and the number of times access to the memory is reduced, thereby speeding up the processing. Moreover the processing of a peripheral part after the variable power becomes unnecessary, which can also speed up the processing. |
