摘要 PURPOSE:To aim at amply smooth overspeed prevention, by using an ignition timing delay in combination with a misfire for checking overspeediness in an engine, and controlling a misfiring cylinder number after performing the ignition timing delay first, while controlling a timing delay starting engine speed or a timing delay value or the like according to engine load. CONSTITUTION:When current-conduction to ignition coils 14A and 14B and its interception are controlled by a central processing unit 12, this CPU12 is constituted so as to produced the specified ignition timing delay value commensurate to an engine speed at that time when the engine speed calculated from output of a REF sensor 5 detecting a reference turning angle position of a crankshaft is more than a first setting engine speed N1. And, when the engine speed is more than a second setting engine speed N2(>N1), a misfiring cylinder number in an engine is made so as to be controlled in response to the engine speed at that time. And, a variation characteristic of the said ignition timing delay value to the engine speed and each of setting engine speeds N1 and N2 are made variable according to engine load, respectively.
