PURPOSE:To increase the strength and make the surface smoother of a frame by a method wherein firstly a laminated body having the predetermined frame shape is formed by spanning resin-impregnated continuous fiber bundle across wrapping jigs and, after that, the outer peripheral surface of the laminated body is covered by a tubular body with a cut or by a split pattern, which is removed after the impregnated resin is hardened. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, the lower part 4a of a bicycle frame 4 is formed by winding resin- impregnated continuous fiber bundle 3a between wrapping jigs 8 and 10 into laminated state. Successively, the central part 4b, upper part 4c and front part 4d of the bicycle frame 4 are formed by winding further the resin-impregnated continuous fiber bundle 3a among wrapping jigs 10, 11 and 12 into laminated state. Finally, the rear part 4e of the bicycle frame 4 is formed by winding furthermore the resin-impregnated continuous fiber bundle 3a between wrapping jigs 11 and 9 into laminated state. Tubular bodies 1 are applied onto the outer peripheral surfaces of the respective parts 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d and 4e of the bicycle frame 4 in order to cover them. The tubular body 1 has a cut part 2 and is made of spring steel with proper recoil strength. When the coating with the tubular body 1 is contrived, at first, releasing agent is applied on the inner surface of the tubular body and both of the sides of the cut part 2 are spreaded so as to be able to closely coat the outer peripheral surfaces of said parts with the tubular body respectively. Next, impregnated resin is hardened as is coared with the tubular body, under the heating condition of about 100-120 deg.C. |
