Mixing valve which includes a valve housing 1, control device 25-27, a replaceable cartridge 10 and a fixed hard material plate 18 situated in it and at least one moving hard material plate 19, which is arranged to cooperate with the fixed plate in order to control the flow rate and mixing condition of the valve under the influence of control device 25-27, and with a hydraulically operating part 50 that functions as a piston and which is sealed but moveable axially in a corresponding bore in valve housing 1 between valve bottom 1A and a chamber for cartridge 10. Channels 51, 52 extend through the hydraulically functioning part 50, which are connected to the water inlet 7A, 8B of valve housing 1 and are also connected to the inputs to cartridge 10; moreover, their hydraulically functioning part 50 has surfaces that are exposed to the pressure in inlet channel 52 and a spring part 30 is placed between valve housing 1A and the hydraulically functioning part 50. This part presses against cartridge 10 with a force that under all conditions is suitable to prevent the plates from loosening from each other or from their packing and the position of inlet 7A, 8A is made independent of the positions of the input sites for cartridge 10. <IMAGE>
