A fire-protection surveillance and alarm device for public assembly or presentation premises having at least one assembly hall which exhibits at least one entrance and a number of safety exits. The device has smoke detectors which are arranged in the entrance area and in the assembly hall and a number of sensors allocated to the doors of the safety exits, and a microprocessor-controlled electronic control and command unit. When predetermined hazardous states detected by the sensors and/or the smoke detectors are established, this unit activates alarm means, switches on all light fittings in the hall and automatically opens the doors of the safety exits by means of activating devices.
